The Meaning of Life

God created us in His image and God is Love. It was His intention that we "Love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves.

This is the meaning of life. Not exactly what we see everyday is it. Life in our world has a "What's in it for me" syndrome. The scary thing is that TV, Radio and the Media, all make it sound OK. Worse than that, they encourage it.

The world is upside down. Good is evil and evil good. Our goal should be to do our part in turning it around. We do this by "hearing" the voice of our God. Keep our eyes on Him. Remember Heaven is our home, we are only passing through, but let's touch a few lives as we do.

Not only is our world upside down, it’s also hurting; one person at a time. We look at others and think their life is hunky dory, having no clue the pain they're experiencing. Can we stop long enough to hear their cries? I read somewhere, that when we walk, we don’t feel the pain of the man up ahead limping.  True isn’t it? But, we can remember what it felt like when we were the one limping.

Chances are we'll only touch a few people in our life, but make those count. Just listen to their hearts and pray. The Lord our God hears, whether we think so or not, and it is He that makes the difference.

Having said that, I want to say this.  It’s very important that you take care of you. The scripture says, “Love your neighbor as yourself", which implies we must love ourselves in order to love our neighbor properly.

Loving ourselves isn’t “it’s all about me". It’s taking time to feed ourselves spiritually and physically. Take time to rest, have fun, eat properly and allow for rejuvenation. If we don’t, we have no energy to give back. Can't fulfill the meaning of life that way.

Take time with God. Let Him feed you spiritually and give you rest. Rest is a weapon. Use it.

And remember, it’s not until we let Him love us, that we can love Him back and love our neighbor as ourselves.
